Gemini officially detailed how to use the Speak to Window feature in its macOS app.
- Standard Dictation: Long-press the FN key and start speaking for regular speech-to-text.
- Reasoning with Screen Context: Users must opt in via app settings under the “Speak to Window” tab. Once enabled, continuing to use the FN shortcut allows Gemini to intelligently differentiate between simple transcription tasks and complex reasoning tasks based on the user's request.
