Google officially announced a new voice capability for the Gemini macOS app. By long-pressing the FN key, users can start speaking, and Gemini will intelligently differentiate between standard transcription and reasoning tasks based on screen context.
The feature allows users to dictate clean text or ask Gemini to transform highlighted content and analyze local files. It is currently rolling out globally in English, with more languages coming soon.
