AI Detector Fail: LLM-Generated Random Numbers Flagged 100% AI

nrehiew_ · x · 2026-07-30

Tests reveal a severe logical flaw in AI text detection tools. If a Large Language Model (LLM) generates a random list of 200 numbers, the detector flags it as 100% AI-generated. However, if a purely random list of numbers is generated programmatically using Python, the detector flags it as 100% human-generated.

Previous studies have shown that this misjudgment is not limited to numbers; the same phenomenon occurs in tests with random word lists. This further exposes the unreliability of current AI detectors in distinguishing between machine and human content.
