OpenAI Offers Free Frontier Model Access to 100k Academic Researchers by 2027

OpenAI announced free access to its frontier models for scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. The initiative, named ChatGPT for Academic Researchers, will initially support 10,000 researchers and scale up to 100,000 by 2027.
Greg Brockman shared the news, emphasizing that equipping academic researchers with frontier AI tools gives humanity more shots on goal against its hardest problems, ultimately accelerating scientific breakthroughs for the benefit of all.
