CLI-Anything: Let AI Agents Control Desktop Apps Without UI Clicks
KhuyenTran16 · x · 2026-07-30
Developer Khuyen Tran introduces the open-source project CLI-Anything, designed to solve pain points when AI agents operate desktop applications like Excel, Photoshop, or AutoCAD.
Traditional UI automation relies on clicking buttons and screenshot recognition, which suffers from unreliable repetition and crashes upon interface changes. CLI-Anything provides a command-line interface for desktop apps, replacing clunky UI interactions so agents can engage with underlying states more reliably.
