CLI-Anything: Empowering AI Agents to Control Desktop Apps via CLI
KhuyenTran16 · x · 2026-07-30
Traditional AI agents controlling desktop applications (like Excel, Photoshop) rely on simulating clicks and reading screenshots, which makes it hard to perceive underlying states and prone to breaking when interfaces change.
CLI-Anything offers a new approach:
- Analyzes how a desktop app works and builds a command-line layer for it.
- Transforms common workflows into installable CLI commands.
- Allows agents to operate the app directly via commands, bypassing clunky visual recognition and clicks to improve reliability and repeatability.
