OpenAI Calls for Government Role in Pacing Frontier AI Development

OpenAI has stated that ensuring powerful AI benefits everyone may eventually require pacing the rate of frontier model development. They expressed a desire to collaborate with the U.S. government, other labs, and the open-source community to develop tools and mechanisms for this.
