Altman Admits AI Job Apocalypse Hasn't Happened: Humans Still Value Trust

Sam Altman previously predicted that AI would cause a major jobs apocalypse, but he recently admitted he was glad to be wrong, as it hasn't happened at the predicted scale.
He argues that people still value human interaction, trust, judgment, and knowing who is behind the work. However, he still expects AI to automate 30% to 40% of current work tasks, with increasingly capable agents and robots performing both intellectual and physical labor. Altman emphasized that the ultimate goal of AI is broad prosperity and scientific progress, not rendering humans economically irrelevant.
