Digital Brain Project Secures $15M Funding to Build Open-Source Human Brain Foundation Models

The Digital Brain Project announced two major updates: selecting its first cohort of 9 academic research teams from international applicants and increasing total funding to $15 million.
The initiative focuses on coordinating the collection of human brain data during complex, real-world activities. This will accelerate large-scale neuronal data acquisition to build open-source foundation models for human cognition, directly impacting fundamental research and clinical care.
