OpenDerm: An Open-Source Home Robot for 3D Skin Tracking and Cancer Screening
arjunrajlab · x · 2026-07-30
Developer Marion Lepert built OpenDerm, an open-source 4-DOF home robot designed to capture high-resolution images of the skin. It reconstructs and tracks the skin surface in 3D over time.
The project aims to solve the challenge of early melanoma detection by bringing routine skin screening into the home, proving that inexpensive robotic skin imaging is feasible.
