According to the Financial Times, Leopold Aschenbrenner's AI hedge fund (SALP) has suffered heavy losses due to a massive drawdown in AI tech stocks and is now in talks with existing investors and lenders to raise fresh capital.
To alleviate the pressure, the fund has floated the idea of allowing some investors to buy assets directly out of its portfolio. Aschenbrenner is reportedly betting on an Anthropic IPO as the catalyst for recovery.
