Safe Superintelligence (SSI), the AI lab founded by former OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, has announced a long-term partnership with Nvidia. The deal includes an undisclosed investment from the chipmaking giant, which Bloomberg reports to be around $5 billion.
The collaboration will grant SSI access to Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin GPU platform, expected to increase the startup's compute resources "by an order of magnitude." Nvidia stated it signed the compute partnership to accelerate SSI's next stage of growth after obtaining rare access into the company's closely guarded research, noting that SSI has achieved significant research milestones worthy of scaling up.
