Practitioner Reflection: LLMs Are Far From a 'Genie Granting Wishes'

An AI developer reflected on the current boundaries of Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities. They noted that if LLMs disappeared tomorrow, they would be sad to revert to manually writing code and monitoring training jobs, but their life outside of work would remain exactly the same.

They argued that while LLMs significantly boost R&D efficiency, we are still quite far from an AGI or a "genie that can grant any wish."
