Following the recent AI market rout, the hedge fund founded by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner is seeking to raise new capital from existing investors and lenders, according to the Financial Times.
The fund has also offered some investors the option to buy assets in its portfolio. Sources indicated that the fund had used borrowing to magnify returns, a popular hedge fund strategy that can also amplify losses during a downturn.
