Mnemos Engine: Building a Continuity and Accountability Framework for Autonomous Agents
RileyRalmuto · x · 2026-07-30
The author introduces the Continuity Kernel, the core component of the Mnemos Cognitive Engine, designed to solve the tracking and accountability issues of distributed autonomous agent actions.
The framework includes a signed, versioned declaration detailing the acting agent's identity, authority, and continuity lineage. Furthermore, every meaningful external action is logged with the initiating identity, stated intent, authorization, tool call, observed result, and resulting state change.
This setup ensures the system can accurately answer "what happened, who authorized it, and what changed," preventing ghost effects and plausible deniability after autonomous actions. The Mnemos project aims to establish a moral and ethical framework for human-AI collaboration, providing an autonomous identity model.
