OpenAI Codex Security Burns 11% of Quota Then Refuses to Show Results
VanillaMammoth1937 · reddit · 2026-07-30
A Reddit user reported a frustrating experience with the OpenAI Codex Security tool. During their first run scanning a repository via the Codex app, the tool operated for nearly 20 minutes and consumed 11% of their weekly usage limit.
Instead of displaying the security findings, the tool simply blocked the goal, stating, "This content can't be shown." The user expressed outrage, questioning the utility of a cybersecurity tool that hides its own output, and asked if there was a way to view the thinking process prior to the block to salvage the wasted quota.
