OpenAI Codex Security complained about: blocks content after 20 mins of running
VanillaMammoth1937 · reddit · 2026-07-30
A developer took to Reddit to complain about severe usability issues with OpenAI's Codex Security tool.
Running the tool on a part of a repository for the first time, it operated for nearly 20 minutes and consumed 11% of the user's weekly limit before abruptly displaying: "Goal blocked, This content can't be shown."
Frustrated, the original poster questioned the point of a cybersecurity tool if it blocks cybersecurity requests outright. They also asked if there was any way to view the agent's thinking process prior to the block to salvage some value from the wasted quota.
