Stanford-Backed Open-Source AI Robot Dog 'Pupper' Launches for Easy DIY

The Hands On Robotics team (originating from Stanford University) has launched Pupper, claiming it to be the world's most accessible open-source AI robotics platform.
- Hardware & Assembly: Fully open-source. Users can build it from scratch in days using provided documentation. For those without 3D printers, pre-assembled kits or complete robots are available.
- Sensing & Interaction: Equipped with cameras, microphones, and proprioception. It supports real-time conversational AI and can follow commands like dancing or tracking.
- AI Training: Integrates with frontier AI models and utilizes simulation training across thousands of virtual environments to learn mobility and balance. Users can deploy and train their own models.
The non-profit also donates a limited number of Puppers to schools, clinics, and nonprofits.
