Opinion: AI Will Catalyze "Smart Voicemail" to Replace Email as Dominant Async Comms

The author argues that traditional email is basically dead. Call transcripts, on the other hand, are 50x richer in context than almost any other traditional digital async medium, making them much more useful as an input for AI-catalyzed tasks.
He suggests that a form of "smart voicemail" will emerge and dominate. Discursive oral/aural async comms will crowd out email, allowing users to avoid walls of text and contend with much richer information through speech processed by AI.
