Zuckerberg Hints at Renting Compute at a Premium, Meta May Open GPU Leasing

Analyst Rihard Jarc suggests that Meta might eventually rent out a portion of its compute power to external partners. This follows CEO Mark Zuckerberg's comment that Meta has received numerous offers to buy their compute at a meaningful premium.

Jarc argues that structuring short-term deals—where parties can cancel quarterly, similar to SpaceX's approach—would help turn market sentiment in Meta's favor. This strategy could provide the financial flexibility needed to sustain its heavy, expensive AI infrastructure buildout. The AI race, he notes, is as much a capital race as it is a technological one.
