Opus 4.8 Emits 6x More Tokens Per Turn for Denser Deliberation

A developer added a token-based x-axis option to ProgramBench's Pareto frontiers, revealing a significant shift in Opus 4.8's behavior:
- Fewer Turns: It takes only 145 turns to complete tasks, down from 159 (v4.7) and 259 (v4.6).
- Denser Deliberation: Token emission per turn has surged to 1,865, which is 3 to 6 times higher than its predecessors (613 in v4.7, 343 in v4.6).
This highlights a clear trend toward fewer interactions but much denser, token-heavy reasoning per turn.
