On-Device Real-Time Video Object Detection with RF-DETR and SwiftUI
amos_gyamfi · x · 2026-07-30
A developer demonstrates how to run real-time video object detection entirely locally on an iPhone, without requiring any API calls.
The implementation leverages RF-DETR, a real-time detection transformer architecture developed by Roboflow, integrated via SwiftUI and Core AI. Built on a DINOv2 vision transformer backbone, RF-DETR achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on COCO and is specifically designed for fine-tuning.
