fortune · reddit · 2026-07-30
As Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses grow in popularity, their hands-free recording capability has been misused for public secret recordings. The device has earned the nickname 'pervert glasses' following a trend of pickup artists secretly filming women.
In response to escalating privacy and harassment concerns, Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced a strict crackdown. The platform is actively removing violating videos that take advantage of people and has banned creator accounts that breach these policies.
