A Reddit user expressed awe and slight fear at the rapid pace of AI progress. They noted that while GPT-5 was considered the world's top model just a year ago, open-weight models like Qwen3.6-27B are now highly competitive and capable of running locally on high-end consumer hardware.
Given this brutal pace of advancement, they believe the theory of having 'mythos-level' models running on laptops within the next 1-2 years might not be so crazy after all.
