llamppl: Integrating Large Language Models into Probabilistic Programming

xuanalogue · x · 2026-07-30

A developer highlighted llamppl, an open-source research prototype for language model probabilistic programming. The library allows PPLs to make calls to LLMs, combining LLM calls, symbolic program logic, and probabilistic conditioning to specify language generation tasks, which are then solved using a specialized sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) inference algorithm.
