OpenAI Offers Free Frontier Model Access to 100K Academic Researchers

OpenAI announced it is providing free access to its frontier models for scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. The initiative, named ChatGPT for Academic Researchers, aims to accelerate discovery across various disciplines.
The program will initially grant access to 10,000 researchers, with plans to expand to 100,000 by 2027.
