Kimi K3 Lands in Japan via ai& Inference, Undercutting Claude Opus 5 Costs

Japanese AI company ai& (Kabushiki Gaisha AI And) has announced the exclusive launch of Moonshot AI's open-weight model, Kimi K3, on its domestic inference platform, "ai& Inference."
According to Artificial Analysis, the 2.8-trillion-parameter Kimi K3 achieved an intelligence index score of 57, closely trailing Claude Fable 5 (60) and GPT-5.6 Sol (59), while significantly outperforming Claude Opus 4.8. In terms of pricing, Kimi K3 is priced at $3.00 for input and $13.00 for output per million tokens, substantially lower than Claude Opus 5. Furthermore, the service operates on a heterogeneous GPU architecture, simultaneously utilizing both NVIDIA and AMD chips from day one.
