Baseten Launches Model Labs Platform for Closed-Model Monetization

AI inference infrastructure company Baseten announced the launch of Baseten for Model Labs, a platform designed to help closed-weight model labs distribute and monetize their models efficiently.
Previously, Baseten introduced the Frontier Gateway, allowing labs to serve models via a white-labeled API. As developer demand for specialized closed models grew—without the hassle of managing new APIs or sub-processors—Baseten built a unified distribution platform. Labs can now list their models in the Baseten Model Library, enabling developers to access them directly via Baseten's infrastructure. Partners already include Kimi K3, Poolside, and others.
