Africa Deep Tech Foundation Launches On-Device LLM Challenge with $20K+ Prize

The Africa Deep Tech Foundation has officially launched the Africa Deep Tech Challenge (ADTC) 2026, themed "The Laptop LLM Challenge."
The initiative invites engineers, researchers, and startups to build AI language models capable of running completely offline on standard laptops with 8GB of RAM, without any cloud dependency. The challenge features a prize pool of over $20,000 and includes a six-month scale-up program for the winners.
