Turbopuffer adds beta late interaction search with ColBERT-style token vectors
antoine_chaffin · x · 2026-07-29
Turbopuffer says it now supports late interaction (beta) for search.
- It represents text as one vector per token, in the style of ColBERT.
- The system uses a single-vector ANN index for the first pass, then applies exact late-interaction scoring to rerank candidates and improve recall.
- The docs show support for vector search, exact kNN, BM25, sparse vector search, ordering by attributes, lookups, aggregations, and multi-query hybrid search.
