Fluorescent Soybeans: Drone Hyperspectral Imaging Enables Early Disease Detection

InnerPlant uses genetic engineering to modify soybeans to express a fluorescent protein activated upon pathogen infection. Although invisible to the naked eye, this fluorescence can be detected by drones equipped with hyperspectral cameras, identifying infections weeks before visible symptoms appear. Planted as 'sentinels' among regular crops, these soybeans monitor the health of the entire field.
