Testing Claude Code's Built-in Browser: Geolocating Photos with Zero Metadata

Matt Wolfe · youtube · 2026-07-29

Tech blogger Matt Wolfe shared a hands-on test of the new built-in browser in Claude Code Desktop. Given a random photo with zero geotags, Claude Code successfully used its internal browser to search the web and deduce the exact location where the photo was taken.

Anthropic recently launched a native, sandboxed in-app browser for Claude Code, capable of reading pages, clicking links, and interacting with elements. Users can open the browser pane by pressing Cmd + Shift + B (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + B (Windows) to enable side-by-side web research, debugging, or web tool building.
