Gemini Notebook to Launch 'App' Artifact: Generate Apps and Games from Sources
testingcatalog · x · 2026-07-29
Google is preparing a new "App" artifact type for Gemini Notebook that transforms notebook sources into working interactive apps, according to TestingCatalog.
- Feature Details: Spotted in the Studio panel, it accepts a prompt to generate outputs like dashboards, study aids, or lightweight games built from a book.
- Infrastructure: Google recently equipped Gemini Notebook with a secure cloud computer sandbox capable of writing and running code against uploaded sources, providing the necessary substrate for app execution.
- Additional Updates: AI Notes is being refined with a manual add-note button. A watermarking toggle has also appeared, likely controlling the Google branding on exported videos, slide decks, and infographics. The feature is not yet live.
