Google research on 15 million Gemini interactions finds little evidence of mass job automation

Google Research analyzed 15 million anonymized Gemini interactions across the Gemini app, Google AI Mode, and Gemini API, and says it found no evidence that AI is driving massive white-collar automation or displacement.
The team’s early read is that AI use is broad but shallow:
- it appears across many occupations
- most usage is collaborative rather than fully automated
- end-to-end task automation remains limited
The post is framed as a rebuttal to the claim that AI is about to replace large parts of the workforce.
