Nature reports a paper on non-Gaussian statistics of the order parameter across a phase transition.
Using single-atom-resolved momentum-space detection in an interacting lattice Bose gas, the authors measure the full probability distribution of the order-parameter amplitude across a continuous phase transition and reconstruct an effective potential from it.
