New ISNAD paper turns classical chain-of-transmission methods into a trust layer for AI agents
alizahidrajaa · reddit · 2026-07-29
A Reddit author says they turned the classical Islamic isnād / rijāl trust system into a new AI trust layer called ISNAD for multi-agent workflows.
The core idea is to verify the claim, not just the agent:
- modern AI pipelines can pass answers through scrapers, extractors, multiple models, and a synthesizer, with silent failures anywhere along the chain;
- ISNAD assigns provenance-style confidence to each link, uses multiple independent chains to raise confidence, and treats the weakest link as the bottleneck.
The author says the paper is now on arXiv and the code is on GitHub, while also acknowledging that some mechanisms are validated and others are still unproven.
