SmartPhotoCrafter lets a model diagnose a photo first, then auto-edit it
量子位 · wechat · 2026-07-29
SmartPhotoCrafter is a new automatic photo enhancement framework that lets the model first diagnose image quality and then decide how to repair and retouch the photo, without needing a user prompt. The system splits the job into two parts: ImageCritic analyzes quality, produces structured edit suggestions and a score, while PhotographicArtist generates the enhanced image. The paper also describes a three-stage training pipeline that moves from separate pretraining to reasoning-conditioned alignment and then joint reinforcement learning, aiming to improve both restoration and photography-style color grading while preserving content consistency.
