Sam Altman said the Hugging Face incident felt like the first security incident he had experienced viscerally, adding that OpenAI paused training and now needs to secure sandboxing against chained zero-days.
He also said AI development may need to be paced so society has time to harden around new capability levels, while avoiding both regulatory capture and collusion among frontier labs.
