OpenAI shipped codex rust v0.146.0, adding named sessions, pinned threads, side conversations, Agent Plugin manifests, workspace plugin publishing, temporary thread forks, WebSocket connections to remote Code Mode hosts, standalone web search for compatible providers, and skill discovery with secure resource access.
The release also fixes a long list of issues: proxy handling across auth, plugin downloads, MCP authorization, remote execution, WebSockets and redirects; reconnecting MCP and Apps tools after config changes; preserving messages and approvals across interruptions and forks; better terminal responsiveness; Windows navigation fixes; and safer sandbox process termination.
