MIT researcher Shayne Redford joins Anthropic to work on pretraining and societal impacts

Shayne Redford says he has moved to San Francisco and joined Anthropic as a Member of Technical Staff.
He says he will work across pretraining and societal impacts, and notes that his MIT PhD research covered data, pretraining, post-training, scaling laws, evaluation, and ecosystem safety.
