AI founder Bindu Reddy questioned the recent calls for pacing AI development by leading companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. She pointed out that if these companies truly believe their models are advanced enough and that their work is for the benefit of humanity, they could simply choose to stop development on their own. Asking "who is stopping them?", she argued that voluntarily pausing should be an easy choice if their stated motivations are genuine.
