Bindu Reddy warns a government AI pause could entrench two dominant labs
bindureddy · x · 2026-07-29
Bindu Reddy says frontier AI labs are pushing for a pause in development and want the U.S. government involved.
He argues that a government intervention would freeze the leaders, force everyone else to stop too, and entrench the current winners. In his view, if some companies want to pause, that should be voluntary; lagging competitors should be allowed to keep catching up, or the industry will collapse into two monopolies.
