Bindu Reddy says a U.S. AI pause would lock in two monopolies

Bindu Reddy argues that if the U.S. government intervenes to pause frontier AI development, the biggest model labs will also pause, current billion-user adoption momentum will stall, and smaller competitors will never catch up.

His view: anyone should be free to pause, but rivals that are behind should be allowed to keep advancing; otherwise the market ends up with two monopolies and everyone else slowly dies off.
