OpenAI alignment researcher joins 1,000-plus signers of frontier-pacing statement

OpenAI researcher Dylan Hunn said he signed a statement on “pacing the frontier” together with 1,000+ lab employees across multiple labs.
The screenshot says he believes AI could bring unprecedented abundance and prosperity, but also warns that these intelligences are fundamentally alien, that we still have too little time to understand them, and that RSI could go wrong in many ways. He argues that if teams take the time to build well-aligned agents, universal abundance may still be possible.
The post is less a product update than a visible alignment-era signal: internal researchers are publicly endorsing a slower, safer approach to frontier AI.
