OpenAI and 1,122 Frontier Employees Urge US Government to Help Pace AI Development

OpenAI officially stated that as AI acceleration increases, the world may eventually need to pace the rate of AI advancement. The company hopes to collaborate with the U.S. government, other labs, and the open-source community to develop necessary technical and governance tools.

It highlights that under intense competitive pressure, industry and society need the option to "buy time" to address emerging risks.
