GitHub Copilot starts rolling out Grok 4.5 with 500K-token context and agentic coding
veggie_eric · x · 2026-07-29
GitHub says Grok 4.5 is now rolling out in Copilot for Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans.
- The model is positioned for fast, agentic coding and complex multi-step workflows.
- GitHub says it supports up to a 500,000-token context window, text and image inputs, and low/medium/high reasoning effort.
- Internal tests showed strong performance in terminal-based coding tasks, especially when dispatching tools in parallel and taking direct action.
- It is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing.
- Enterprise and Business admins must enable the Grok 4.5 policy manually; rollout is gradual across VS Code, Copilot CLI, cloud agent, JetBrains, Xcode, Eclipse, and the Copilot app.
