MIT researcher Shayne Redford joins Anthropic as a Member of Technical Staff

Shayne Redford says he has moved to San Francisco and joined Anthropic as a Member of Technical Staff.
He says the new role will span pretraining and societal impacts. He also notes that his MIT PhD work covered data, pretraining, post-training, scaling laws, evaluation, and ecosystem safety, including work related to transparency.
