GenomeLayer says a genomics agent can now iterate DNA sequences toward a target
julia_kiseleva · x · 2026-07-29
GenomeLayer says Marc Amil turned its genomic models into a working sequence-design loop. The prototype generates candidate sequences, evaluates them with Genomic Intelligence, and iteratively refines them toward a biological objective.
The post says this came from the company’s Agentic Genomics Build Challenge, where builders could use the API, MCP server, or platform. The company positions this as a shift from predicting what DNA does to designing sequences for a desired outcome, and says more challenges are coming.
