MazeBench is a 3D open-world benchmark for long-horizon planning
MazeBench introduces a 3D open-world environment designed to test long-term planning and visual spatial reasoning. The benchmark spans hundreds of rooms and puzzles, and the author says today’s best agents still cannot get past the initial levels.
The post also hints at a tradeoff common in open benchmarks: making the environment public increases its usefulness as a testbed, but also makes it easy for model builders to overfit or game it. The result is a benchmark aimed at exposing where current agents still fail on extended, spatial tasks.
