Google updates Gemini Managed Agents API with hooks, free tier support, and a new default model
Google is shipping new updates to the Gemini Managed Agents API. The main changes are:
- Environment hooks for blocking, linting, and auditing tool calls inside the sandbox
- Ability to select a specific model, including Gemini 3.6 Flash
- Free tier support in both the UI and API
- The default agent now uses Gemini 3.6 Flash
The update also adds budget controls and scheduled triggers in the broader agent workflow.
